Dear Residents, Families and Friends,
We are thankful that Parker Ridge residents and staff members have survived the coronavirus pandemic over the last 24 months. It is our continued position along with Maine CDC that vaccination against COVID-19 is the best way to keep our residents safe. As such, Parker Ridge will have a 2nd vaccination booster clinic soon in collaboration with the Blue Hill Community Pharmacy (details will be forthcoming).
Nancy Violette, R.N. (our Director of Health Services) and I feel it is time to announce the following relaxation of COVID-19 protocols:
Guidelines at Parker Ridge: Effective April 1st
Assisted Living & Residential Living Apartment Visitations – masking and physical distancing are not required once in the resident’s apartment; however, in the case of any unvaccinated visitor, it is suggested that both the resident and the visitor(s) wear a face covering or mask (covering both the nose and mouth) and maintain social distance.
PRCA Members – cottage residents are no longer required to check-in at the Visitor’s Table.
Outdoor Visitations on Campus – masking and physical distancing are not required;
however, in the case of any unvaccinated visitor, it is suggested that both the resident and the
visitor(s) wear a face covering or mask (covering both the nose and mouth) and maintain
social distance.
Off Campus Activities, Travel & Visitations – residents must be prepared to practice
pandemic precautions which include hand hygiene, wearing a face covering or mask
(covering both the nose and mouth) and maintain social distance as your activity requires by
state law, federal law, restaurant protocols, store requirements and/or common sense.
Optional Mask Wearing for Fully Vaccinated Residents and Staff Members – fully
vaccinated Parker Ridge residents and fully vaccinated staff members may choose to wear
(or not to wear) a face covering or mask in the common areas of Parker Inn. However, staff
members are REQUIRED to wear a face covering in the Parker Court common areas and
while giving personal care to any Residential Living or Assisted Living resident.
Resident (fully vaccinated) develops signs and symptoms of COVID-19 or reports close
contact to an individual with COVID-19 – resident must immediately notify the Registered
Nurse on duty by dialing 207-374-2913 (CNA desk). A nurse will come check on you and
make an assessment. Please stay in your apartment and await further instructions including COVID-19 testing requirements.
*** Visitors must NOT enter Parker Inn if ***
